Queens South High Schools serves District 27, 28, and 29 in the New York Public Schools borough of Queens.

We are delighted to welcome you to Queens South High School District, proudly serving the vibrant and diverse school communities of Districts 27, 28, and 29. With 29 schools, six of which cater to grades 6-12, we celebrate a community rich in economic, racial, and ethnic diversity, encompassing approximately 23,000 students from neighborhoods including Forest Hills, Jamaica, Richmond Hill, Ozone Park, and the Rockaway Peninsula.

Our district's demographic tapestry is as diverse as it is dynamic: 54% of our students are male and 46% female, with 29% identifying as Black, 35% as Hispanic or Latinx, 22% as Asian, 3% as Native American, and 8% as White. We proudly serve a community where 17% of students have disabilities and 11% are current multilingual learners, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and support.

Queens South High Schools are synonymous with innovation and opportunity. We are home to the only specialized high school in Queens and boast three CTE portfolio-funded schools, along with 15 Future Ready Schools as well as the first ever HBCU Early College Prep High School in the Metropolitan area. These institutions empower students with coursework, college credit, and credentials in fields such as teaching, pre-nursing, diagnostic medicine, business and finance marketing, software developing, cybersecurity, and IT. Each student is inspired to develop an articulated post-secondary plan, ensuring personalized guidance toward their career and future goals.

Our district team has expanded to 24 passionate members, including experts in Special Education, Multilingual Learning, Student Services, and more. Our goal is to provide robust, rigorous, and relevant professional learning experiences for all stakeholders. Initiatives like the Collegial Cohorts of Collaboration and Data Chats offer leadership intervisitation and tailored feedback, fostering school achievement.

We are thrilled to have received numerous grants, including the NYS My Brother’s Keeper, which enhances mentoring and outcomes for Black, Latinx, and Southeast Asian males. Through partnerships with Common Point Queens, TRIAD Consulting, and community-based leaders, we offer enriching learning opportunities for students, teachers, and families. Our collaboration with College Board and Elevate further provides advanced course opportunities and essential skills training through the NYC AP for All district grant.

Our district's achievements speak volumes: a four-year graduation rate of 90%, an attendance rate of 90%, a 12% reduction in chronic absenteeism, and over 95% provision rate for Students with Disabilities and Multilingual Learners. In 2018-19, three schools were identified by NY State as needing enhanced support and now, under new leadership all Queens South High Schools are recognized as schools in good standing.

Join us in celebrating our commitment to fostering a community of excellence, innovation, and opportunity. Welcome to Queens South High Schools, where every student's future is our shared success!
